Job Title: PR & Communications Executive

Department: Marketing

Location: London office with occasional travel to all regional offices

 

The PR & Communications Manager (PCM) is responsible for driving and supporting the PR efforts at a brand level nationally and marketing efforts our HQ in London, across the full mix of marketing activities.

 

The PCM will work closely with senior management to design and deliver an effective corporate profile-raising strategy. They will coordinate all brand level PR activity, designed to raise the profile of the business and key individuals within it. They will be supported by a team of regional marketing managers, as well as external agency support.

 

The PCM will strive to increase our media profile in local and trade press, while utilising social media to grow our online presence. Other responsibilities will include the delivery of events, and digital communications.

 

This full time position is based in the London office with occasional travel to and interaction with other offices outside of London.

 

The successful candidate will be degree educated, incredibly confident, with excellent written and communication skills and an eye for detail. This role would particularly suit someone with a professional services or agency background. They will be able to operate across all spectrums of the business, building key relationships with stakeholders and support staff, and being an ambassador for our brand on a regional and national level.

 

Main duties

 

Delivering PR and communications support

  • Devising and delivering a proactive and reactive corporate PR strategy. Manage relationships with key journalists and PR agencies, and in-house research and digital marketing teams
  • Developing, writing press releases and proactively calling and pitching PR content to relevant publications/freelance journalists
  • Managing regional & national PR and marketing (e.g. event organisation, copywriting, strategic planning, supporting corporate/business development initiatives)
  • Proactively build and maintain strong relationships with all external press, and industry associations to ensure the business capitalises on all potential PR opportunities
  • Management of media contributions to regional features in national/trade media, and property/business supplements within local/regional media
  • Internal communications around new hires or other issues of corporate relevance
  • Build and maintain a national PR activity calendar
  • Identifying and capitalising on event speaker opportunities
  • Crisis communications
  • Researching and writing industry award submissions
  • Support the development and implementation of national marketing campaign plans
  • Ensuring the region has appropriate systems and processes in place to manage and support the region’s business development activities, including: key client targeting programmes
  • Thought pieces & creative writing
  • Acting as brand champion
  • Copy-checking of press releases and corporate materials
